Can anyone confirm that one of the Trimbles of 'Impartial Reporter' fame had a sister who married a William Dennison around 1870-1880. She may have been a sister of William Copeland Trimble.

Hi Stev,

That's a good question. I'd be interested in learning more about the Trimble family as I've a thread about Joan and Valerie, daughters of William Egbert Trimble and Marie (nee Dowse), on the www.enniskillen.com genealogy board. Joan and her sister were well known pianists.

Hi Chris

I am aware of Valerie and Joan. I have established that William Dennison did not marry a Trimble although there was a story passed down the Dennison family that there was a close connection. If there was a connection it was 'far out' and I have been unable to unearth anything of significance. William Dennison's wife, Mary Ann Every, was from the Enniskillen area.

HI Chris

Correction, William Dennison's wife was Mary Ann Emery.

Hi
I was interested in this post because I know the reason why "William Copeland Trimble" had the middle name of Copeland. I thought I would share it.

My gg grandfather was Hugh Copeland who lived in Enniskillen. He was  good friends with William's father William, and in 1837 when the sr William Trimble and his paper were in trouble, Hugh Copeland saved  William Sr from debtors prison . Hugh Copeland lent William Trimble the money and in return William named his son William "Copeland" Trimble after my gg grandfather.

I love finding stories like this, it makes researching your family all that much more special.....and "real".
