Can any one please help me locate my great great grandparents marriage details
Thomas Humphries Born 1844 Shropshire
Deborah May Born St Luke's Middx Dec 1844
Their first child Gertrude May Humphries was born C1868 in Chelsea
I have searched FreeBMD & 1837 without luck so far.

Alan,
There is a Chelsea marriage Dec 1867 1a/372 for a Thomas Humphries. How sure are you of the bride's name? There are only two brides listed on FreeBMD with this ref but neither appear to be yours. This is the only Chelsea marriage for Humphries which is coming up between 1862 and 1870. They could, of course have married outside of Chelsea, but as their first child was born there, this is where I've looked first.
Birth ref for Gertrude May Humphries - Chelsea Sep 1867 1a/239 so marriage probably before this date....?
Not sure if you have 1881 census but here it is

All above spelt as per census so errors are in census, not typing errors.
Also, death of Deborah Humphries Jun 1904 (age 59) Lewisham 1d/600

Totally sure of brides name ( have birth certs for two of children) and have Censuses for them as far back as 1871. As for Occupation, he actually made tennis balls ( doesn't really sound as interesting) and in 1871 and 1901 occupation is shown as carpenter.

Just to complete what I've looked up - I looked at the marriage fiches for Dec 1867 for the marriage of Thomas Humphries and no bride listed iwht the surname May - so it looks like that's not the one.
Are you sure they married? - Just a question as so many of mine said they were married and weren't.....
I've also searched family relatives for 1866 as this is fully searchable and nothing!!
Looks like they married before 1866 if they were married at all.
