Hello,
I've managed to work out how to get a pic onto the Profile bit...but how do you get an image into the body of a message?
Help Please!

Hi Romilly,
If you click on "Additional Options" when replying to a post or starting a new topc, then you can add images as attachments.
If you want to add them in the "body of the text", then, if they are somewhere on the web, you can use the image-tags ("Add BBC Tags, second row, second icon from the left) and enclose the URL(web-address) with these (or type by hand: [ img]http://web address[/img], without a blank between [ and img] !)
Good luck, Bob

No problem Emmeline
It is a pic of:
Millie Lindon,
a minor singer, whose Music Hall career lasted little more than a decade. Lindon was born Fanny Elizabeth Warriss, the daughter of a tailor. On her marriage to Dunville in Clapham in 1895, she embellished her name to become Florence Elizabeth Millicent Warriss and reduced her age by nine years. Dunville managed the early part of the career but she had only one hit song, For Old Times’ Sake [1898], written by Charles Osborne. The marriage lasted seven years and Millie then married the Manchester newspaper magnate Sir Edward Hulton, who founded The Daily Sketch, bought and enlarged the London Evening Standard and then sold his empire to Lord Beaverbrook for £6 million. They had two children - a daughter who died at the age of 22, and a son, Edward George Warris.
I first came across her when I was looking at the Warriss bit of my mother's family, but I don't think that she was a rellie...I then came across her again when I was looking at Music Hall sites for some mention of my Comedian Great Grandfather, Thomas Louis Newman.
I thought that she looked splendidly piratical in this pic
Best Wishes, Romilly.

Hi Jenn,
The trick is to make 'em small
(Mine wouldn't stick initially...because they were too big).
Best Wishes, Romilly.

Splendidly piratical indeed Romilly. I just knew there would be a fascinating story behind the photo. Thank you for telling it. Now I am wondering if there might be a connection to the comedians Jimmy Jewell and Ben Warriss - known as a great double act ? ? It took me absolutely ages to get my profile picture in place - in the end I'm sure it was more good luck than good management ! Thank you again - just the sort of story I love.
