1851 Census
« on: Wednesday 26 October 05 17:14 UTC (UK) »

But what happen to the person's who lived in Hilton and Brackenber at that time. I can't find any of them in this census.  Huh  Huh  Huh

In the 1851 index of the Richardson's in Westmorland:
Hilton. 103. John. 50. F 9a. W. Bongate.
Hilton. 99. James. 30. Lead Miner. W. Musgrave.

Where are they at Ancestry census of 1851?

And for others, I found many mistakes. A Robert turned into a Mary. In the image it says clearly Robert. It was, that I knew where to look or I would have never found him in Sandford.
And so I can go on ..............

Regards,
Miranda

Hi Miranda,

I too have had the same problem with the Hilton /Brackenber Area search in the 1851 Census. It is the folios 98 to 105 which are completely missing but there may be more.

I have been given two automated answers from Ancestry which have been totally irrelevant to my query. Iwill have to try and generate another message to find out what is happeneing to these entries. I have put a message on this site to ask any one else with the same problem to send Ancestry a message.
Have you had a reply back yet to your query?

I have Richardsons ancestors in that area but I think they were not the same family as yours. Mine hailed from Morland.
I have Dents in the Brackenber area.

Hope we get something done about the Census.

Hello Judy,

I didn't get a proper answer too from Ancestry. One of those standard e-mails that every one gets and which doesn't make any sense.

I'm very disappointed......  Sad  and angry  Angry

I had hoped so much to find my Richardson's on the census of 1851.

James Richardson took over a farm in Brackenber before the census of 1861 but from who. I had hoped to find out with the census and locate his father and siblings ....... Aarrgghh!

Hi Gillian,

Nothing.

I had not thought about it for a while. I must try again to notify them about it.

Have you tried? If so have you had any reply.

Judy,

No have heard nothing from Ancestry.

I have had problems locating my Ellwoods in Dufton in 1851 too even though I can see them on a 1851 index!! Most frustrating!!

Hi
We can look but will need more information that that if you have it.  Dates?  Place?  Bell is such a common name in that area. Are these the ones from Crosthwaite in your other post?
