1890 car driver

On my ggrandmothers marriage cert in 1890 her father occupation is listed as car driver of Tipperary , can anyone shed some light on that occupation back in 1890's?

Hello Kym,

No problem. Cars were carts drawn by horses. Examples, jaunting cars long cars and short cars. Here are several sites with pictures of jaunting cars.
