caroline, all the crew apart from young joe burke came from quebec, joe burke was from new brunswick,i reckon if you put that in the quebec papers you will be successful, gerard dusablons real name was, joseph, lionel, underic du sablon, and arthur grouix is grouLx,i tried seeing if their ages would give a clue, but no chance, two were 20,two were 21,one was 22 and william, allison was 28,dont think its william, but it could be any of the rest, good luck caroline, ime another one rooting for you, mack

I agree with mack, the fellow on far right looks like a great match...although the first at left might also fit, possibly. Bit hard to tell, but definitely one of those two!

Sorry I had to have a sleep, Grouix - Sgt gunner Du Sablon - Sgt gunner Burke - W.O. (that could be either warrant officer or wireless operator)/gunner Allison _ Sgt bomb aimer Hamel _ Pilot officer All from No 22 Sqdn O.T.U. (operational training unit) although I am not 100% sure what AN O.T.U. is, it may be a final training unit before the real stuff? Denn

A couple of ideas:
1. The National Archives (UK) might have files relating to the crash. The NA of Australia has files on air crashes both military and civilian, going back decades.
2. What institution woudl have the service records of these fellows? Canadian Archives? They might have photographs on their files.

Still trying, This one has got me. Maybe because having joined the R.A.F. as a young man, I realise that it is only fate that prevented a conflict that could have meant both me and my younger brother being in the same position as those youths.Which brings me to another point the photo is not neccesarily of one of the crew - if he had a relation in the force the chances are that it could be thier photo' Next point - it seems that although these young men gave thier life I don't find record of any award. What I did find andfor future reference it is a very comprehensive list of RCAF awards, it gives full details of the carreers of the recipients. http://www.airforce.ca/index2.php3?page=wwii Denn
