MC in WW2
« on: Friday 03 April 09 13:47 UTC (UK) »

Hi,
I'm sure this may have been asked before.
Can anyone point me in the direction of finding out about who was awarded the MC in WW2?

I have a distant reli, who might have been awarded this.

The reason that I think this is that in the Gazette I found a reference to him being 'commended' for the MC. I'd like to find out if he was awarded it.

Many thanks

Hiya,
the chaps name was William Henry Guilland Stenson. I only know that he was born after 1909, but I don't know when and that he died in 1977.

The medal passed from the family to a distant relative thereafter.
Thanks

On behalf of the family concerned, may I express my thanks to you for looking this.
This information has confirmed matters which some of them suspected that they knew about but didn't know how to go about finding the information

Gratitude in abundance
