Robert Leishman, b. 15 Jan 1847, Newmonkland, Lanark,Scotland; d. 30 Dec 1900, Alliance, Box Butte County, NE; bur. 1 Jan 1901, Greenwood Cemetery, Alliance, Box Butte County, NE. He m. Mary Melida Everett, 24 Dec 1872, Salineville, Columbiana County, OH., He was the son of William Leishman and Ann Forsyth. In Scotland and Ohio, Robert was a coal miner. He contacted black lung disease and came to Nebraska to farm and get away from the coal fields. He became a citizen of the United States on 10 Oct 1876, in Columbiana County, OH. Their children were Annie Margaret, Norman Gilbert, Clarence Elmer and Alvin Alexander. to Salineville, Columbiana County, OH in 1869
