Hello lyraea,

It's in the registration district of Gloucester. This is a useful site for places and registration districts...

Hi John

Thanks - that's a great site.   It says Ashleworth is a place.   Is there anyway I can find out what parish it is in or are places and parishes the same thing.

Sorry - but haven't quite worked that one out yet.  Maybe they can be both.   Appreciate your knowledge.

Thanks

Hello lyraea,

I'm not familiar with the place, so I don't know if it's a village or a town, but I believe its a Parish in Gloucestershire  Smiley

The Parish Locator program is extremely useful, and its free...

Hi Susan

Thanks for your info.

The link you gave me opened up a page of very strange symbols.   I tried several times.     Also went to http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/ but wasn't sure where to go to from there.

Hi Lyraea,

I've just tried the link and it's not working  Sad

Yet I was using it on Friday to look at Tredington.

Keep trying, if no good I will report it.
