TIMSON Arthingworth circa 1800

I am looking for details of birth for my g-g-grandfather John Timson who, according to the 1861 census was born in Ardenworth/Arthingworth, Northampton around 1808. He later moved to London but I have no information about his origins can anyone help?

have you checked out this entry on the IGI -

         John Timmson
         Christening - 3rd November 1811
         Raunds, Northamptonshire
       
         Father - John Timmson
         Mother - Hannah

  Source Info:
  Batch No. 7606903
  Sheet 84
  Source Call no: 1058292

Names often have variations in spelling.

Raunds is about 16 km from Arthingworth so it is within the bounds of possibilities.

Hi

There is no mention of a John Timson baptism in the Arthingworth parish registers but there is a marriage for a William TIMSON to an Ann DOBSON married in church by banns 27 May 1782 (neither could sign their names) wit: Thomas MOTT & John COOK

Thanks for the info. I forgot I had posted here Undecided  I wasn't aware there were any Timsons in Arthingworth so thanks for that. The John Timmson from Raunds is the closest I can get - unless someone out there knows better!
