Hi all,

Does anyone know of a good site for the old Dorset Asylum? Or even better a site that has patient details on perhaps c1870? a long shot i know!

i think you will find the asylum was herrison house that opened in 1864 in dorchester, it has now be converted into flats now, it was a huge victorian building,don't know where the records are though.
