Hi Marie. Could u let us know what it is that u r looking for? If u list what it is u know about a person and what it is that u r looking for u may find somebody to help u. I fear that postings of a name and area really arn't likely to get much result! Try to list as much detail as u can on the person and exactly what it is u would like a lookup done on! Please Be specific and hopefully u will find a volunteer to help u.

Sorry Kris. Thanks for your advice. I am new to this and finding my way.
Louisa Stock married Charles Cracknell in 1851. She was born 1825 in Great Bardfield to parents Joseph Stock, b. 1798 Grt.Bardfield and Sarah Whybrow, bcirca 1800 also Grt.Bardfield. They were married 7 December 1821.
I am looking for any information I can get to fill gaps and hopefully go further back.
Louisa and Charles emigrated to Australia in 1855.

Have you seen all the entries on www.family.search.org. Great Bardfield appears to be very well covered. Let me know if you want to know the quickest way of searching these records.
I have the 1841 census for Essex but have not found either Louisa Stock (other than the one listed with Joseph below) or Charles Cracknell in Gt Bardfield. It's possible she was working away from home. I did find a Joseph & family as follows:
Ref HO107/329/3/1/6/5
Joseph Stock, 45, b Essex no occupation listed
Louisa Stock, 45, b Essex
Mary Stock, 16 b Essex
William Stock, 10, b Essex
There are a number of Stocks in Gt Bardfield. Unfortunately those on the ref HO107/329/3/2 etc only show the name of the head of the household, all the other members are only listed by sex and age. This enumerator should have had a slapped wrist. There are some other listed in the first reference with full household details. I am listing below the heads of households I found with spouses in case they are of interest. Keep the references and I will check full details for you later if you want them.

Dear Bernie, Thank you for your efforts! I am sorry for not replying sooner, I am still learning about this site and hadn't checked back!
My Louisa Stock married CHARLES CRACKNELL in Finchingfield in 1850. Her parents were JOSEPH STOCK and SARAH WHYBROW (who died in 1828, so maybe he married again). Joseph is believed to have been born circa 1798.
Perhaps Louisa was living in Finchingfield. Charles' parents were EDWARD CRACKNELL and MARY (Clarke). She died in 1863.
Could you possibly check these names out? It would be very much appreciated.
By the way, I would also appreciate a quick way of searching the Great Bardfield records on family.search.org as well if okay. Many thanks. Marie
