BARRON: Looking for long-lost great uncle
« on: Saturday 05 November 05 16:35 GMT (UK) »

My Grandfather was born in Pennan, Banffshire, Scotland in 1914 and came
to Canada with his parents and all but one of his siblings (as well as
other family members) in 1923. His oldest brother, "Sandy" BARRON (I
assume his first name was Alexander....?) stayed behind in Scotland and
kept in touch with the family until the years during WWII, then they
lost contact. We assume he died in WWII, although no one was ever
notified of his death. We don't even know 100% if he even fought in
WWII. We also don't know if he had a wife/fiancee or any children.
"Sandy"/Alexander would have been born (I assume) after  the marriage
of his parents Alexander Walker BARRON & Christina R. SEIVWRIGHT in June
1905 at Rathven, Banffshire, Scotland and the birth of the next sibling,
John "Jock" Walker BARRON c.1909. His birth is not listed on Scotland's
People.
Does anyone have any advice as to how I could track down ANY
information on him, anything about his life and most importantly waht
happened to him?
I really hope to someday figure out this mystery, before my father's
generation get too much older (my dad is the "baby" of the family at 57,
but a lot of his cousins are in their 60's and 70's).

Thanks!!

IF he died during WWII, he may be listed in the Commonwealth War Graves Commission web site http://www.cwgc.org/cwgcinternet/search.aspx

I believe mary was illigitimate and Grace had to go to court to get her recognised as alexanders Daughter by birth

Mary BARRON GRANT married married William MUTCH on the 28 May 1898
