My 5g grandfather was Robert Logan who lived there in the mid late 1700's. Married Mary McKay abt 1780. There were 2 other Logans - John and David - at that time who were probably his brothers or cousins. I cannot find any certain record on Robert's birth although I suspect all 3 were born in Ayrshire. I have access to all recorded Islay births etc but no mention of where these 3 came from. Also subscribe to the excellent Islay List. Any ideas?

I am double checking that you have seen the extracted records birth entry for a Nelly Logan on www.familysearch.org  Her birth on 24 May 1781 in Killarrow Argyll is to parents Robert Logan and Mary McKay.

Yes I do have Nelly - or Helen _ as a daughter of Robert and Mary McKay and sister of my ancestor James. Wish I could get some data on Robert.
