1851 Census Stubbington/Titchfield
« on: Sunday 29 August 04 15:34 BST (UK) »

Please could someone look up the 1851 Census for Titchfield and for Rome/Room/Roam Farm.  It was near Stubbington/Fareham, but would have come under the Titchfield area.

Thanks in advance

Hi Honeybun,

Sorry to see that no-one has been able to help you yet.

Are you any further forward in your research?  Is there anything you can add to the information you have already given?

Hi Little Nell

Thanks for your reply.

I'm researching the Buckett family who were farmers and lived at Room Farm Stubbington in the 1841 Census.  John Buckett was my great great great grandfather and he died in 1846 but his son William would most likely have taken on the farm so I wanted to find out if the family were still there in 1851.

Sorry Nell, something went wrong while I was typing.

I'll try again.

Census 1841

John Buckett  70  Yeoman
Fanny Buckett  65  Wife
William Buckett  35  Son, Ag. Lab.
George Buckett  10  (says son, but I think he is grandson)  Ag. Lab.
George Hurney  15  Ag. Labourer.

Room Farm, Titchfield.

I think the farmhouse was demolished in the early 1900's to make way for the Peel pumping station.

Anything you have would be gratefully received.

Hi Nell,

Haven't heard from you since you picked up my request on 16th January, have you had any luck?

Regards
