Hi, I wonder if anyone could advise me on the following?

The burial entry for one of my relatives reads as follows

John Salisbury Clerk of this parish ( Fornham St martin)

does anyone know what his duties involved and where l may possibly gather more information?

Any help or guidance would be very much appreciated.

Regards,

Robert
