Any person researching the BEARD family who lived at Oldbury.
The only information I have to date is:- Enoch Beard, c about 1893, married Elizabeth Jackson in 1914. Enoch was one of the fallen in the Great War. His parents were John & Phoebe, and his brothers John, Joseph & William Any help with this family and ancestors would be appreciated
Regards Alf Beard

My Mother's cousin was a Beard who was an alderman and mayor of Oldbury in the 1930s. Does he fit into the picture. My Beards came to Aston Birmingham from Shropshire.

I have a picture of Alderman BEard and Wife in civic regalia but it has disappeared under our 'deep litter' system of filing we opeate here
Will check out the Daniels book of Oldbury.
Another interesting branch of the Beards is Bill and Ivor Beard who both got awarded the MBE for war services. Bill [ born 1906] son of William was in the Birmingham Fire Service.

Hi Beardie,
While we are waiting for Alf to get back ...
Any idea of Edward's parents?
Searching later census for potential siblings, I see there's a Joseph Beard born ca. 1833 Stoke
On the 1841 census, I see: HO107/908/9 41 31 Hales Owen, Shropshire Township of Oldbury New Merty? T Thos Beard, 45, Labourer, no Edd, 13, Miner, no Sarah, 11, no Josh, 8, no Harrit, 5, yes
A possible?
