Unwanted Probate for Mary Butcher - Christchurch

I requested this probate record from Archives Christchurch but it is not my Mary Butcher so if anyone thinks it might connect to them I am happy to pass it on.

Mary Butcher of Avonside Christchurch, Widow - died October 12, 1906
Children:  Mary Jane Down - wife of Alexander Arthur Down of Cheviot Farmer, Elizabeth Hannah Penberthy, Eliza Emily Stewart,
Thomas James Butcher and Walter Edward Harold Butcher - Piano Tuner.

She owned several properties in Christchurch which she left to the above children.

Hi Bee,

If no one has yet claimed the BUTCHER probate could I suggest that you send it to the NZ Society of Genealogists for their Certificates Collection? They would be very keen to have it.

Hi Riley,

No it hasn't been claimed and your suggestion sounds like a great idea.  I have got quite a few certificates, military records and probates etc relating to my research that I could send to them.  What about information re. ITMs which you have kindly provided for me - do they take that as well or is it copies of the actual certificates/documents that they want?

Hi Bee,

Trust me, they'll take all of it. They index everything for future generations. If you're not a member you could send it all to me and I'll send it on to the right people, as they have different officers dealing with Strays & More Collection, Certificates Collection, etc. Otherwise I can provide the addresses.

The advantage of contributing to NZSG (or any society for that matter) is that they have a copy of your information in case you lose it, and you can get it back. This is exactly the way NZSG work with School Records, for example.
