I am looking for any information about a John Levell born in Orsett, Essex at or around 1803. I realise that this will before any census data and was wondering if ayone could advise me on sources I might visit next time I am in Essex?

Hallo Jonathan, I am pretty sure that the baptism, marriage and burial and census records for Orsett would be archived at the Essex Record Office in Chelmsford. If you google 'SEAX' it will take you to an online search mechanism for ERO.
