Hi Stephany Found these two references on Genealogy.com that MAY refer to your Henry.
Germans To America, 1830-1874 Age: 41 Gender: Male Occupation: Laborer Country: England Final Distination: United States Ship's Name: Etna Port of Embarkation: Genoa Date of Arrival: September 28, 1865 Captain's Name: P Mcguigan Purpose for Travel: Staying in the USA Mode of Travel: Steerage
* I do know that ships more often than not made more than one stop on their voyage.
Passenger and Immigration Index, 1500-1900s Place: Scott Co., IA, Year 1874 Primary Immigrant: Exley, Henry Permanent entry number: 1220058 Source publication code: 2771 Source Publication number: 49 Source Publication: GREENLEE, Janet. Naturalization index of Scott County, Iowa, 1842-1930. Des Moines Iowa Genealogical Society, 1981. 228p
* I believe that a person needed to be in the USA a minimum of 5 years before applying for naturalization.
Some things match, but I have no way of veryifying.
Regards, Valerie
