thank you very much for the info I don't have the death certs I know Ralph senior was heart attack not a bad age though . When I have some spare cash I shall send for other death certs . I am just surmising Ralph Jnr was from influenza . I should have thought thier standards of living was reasonably high Ralph Snr being Retired Police Inspector and Grand Masonic master so I don't imagine it would have been from poverty thank you once again Wendy

Going by the M.O.B. which was 3rd class which normally means no headstone.By the time of the last burial it was 2nd,so presumably a better status burial, paid for by whoever was responsible for the arrangements.Thats just my thought though I noticed briefly, there are two other Hankinson in the cemetery.Different sections if i remember rightly.Do you know if any more of your are there?

Hi Celia,
You kindly sent me all the information and a photo of this grave.
In Loving Memory of my Dear Husband James Finlay Macara Died 1st September 1918 age 35 also Joan Finlay Simmons Died 10th October 1954 age 38 And Edith Isobel wife of James Finlay Macara Died 6th June 1963 after a long Illness.Patiently bourne 2nd Class Grave Section: 6G Number: 58
I am still looking for the missing member of this family. Margaret their only other child was born in 1913 and she was still alive in 1954 but not married when her sister died. I can find no trace of her death or burial. I had thought she would be buried with the rest of the family. If anyone one has any suggestions I would love to hear.

Macara Nice to hear from you again,I had another look for Margaret and didnt find a single Macara registered in Marriages or deaths in any counties way past 1954.I cant visualize Macara being mistranscribed although there are a couple but not Margaret's.Where was she living in 1954?There are some main reasons why people dissapear. She could have been cremated in Landican so you will never find a burial.I don't know much about cremation record keeping but you need a D.D to find out from Landican. she could have moved right out of the area and died elsewhere.Or she could have Married if my sums a re correct

Many thanks Celia ! This is all the information I have about her from her sister's obituary. I have no date or source for the newspaper but it would be 1954 I would think. I thought perhaps because it specifically mentioned Margaret it might have been from the area where she lived and most likely Wallasey but as you say there are so many other possibilities. Thanks for looking again. The most likely different spelling is McARA.
JOAN MACARA daughter of Mrs E.I. Macara (only sister of Miss Margaret Macara) Born in Wallasey Cheshire. Graduated in medicine at Liverpool University in 1940. Joined Royal Army Medical Corps and served three years including a period in India. Married in January 1946 to Rev R. A. Simmons. She met her husband at St John's Church Egremont where he had been a curate some years previously and moved to St Andrew's Watford in November 1946. She had 2 daughters Margaret and Katherine. She died on 10th October aged 38 years. Her children were Margaret 7 and Katherine 6.

Macara Its handy to have that bit of extra information, maybe one day between us or anyone else.We will find her,but to be honest I think you might be better looking for any descendent's of her sisters family. We are never going to find her with no info so maybe the living would be easier to trace.I have a few Idias but will keep you posted. If there any good
