Unfortunately Rake lane burial records only do just that, have a burial record for one person. They don't have(available to the Public) Grave records, where once you have the grave number you can see who else in buried in it.

Sally There isn't a burial for Arthur for the year 1963 for C.O.E and non con.I didn't look in the catholic burials,Can you re-check the information is correct the grave number seems a bit high for the size of the sections.Has your friend got the death cert For Arthur because that will give the age at death. Has he got the actual grave information, green ticket that was supplied to family. My mum had one for her parents grave. If you haven't got anyfurther info i will go back and look on the catholic film.

Hi Celia, Thank you so much for your time & effort. I querried Arthur'r religion with my friend last night, his reply was ...
Ellen (the wife) was a catholic, but Arthur was the black sheep of his family, so I doub't he will be of any religon.
So he may well be in the Catholic section. I had assumed that the indexes would have given details of all those burried in the plot. Since it does not, I don't think we could learn anything new from the burial records.
Looks like we might have to make a day trip out from Yorkshire in the Spring to visit the cemetery! Is there a map with grave numbers on it at the cemetery?
Kind regards Sally

Thank you Celia,
I had no idea the Cemetery was so big. We have just had a look at it on Google Earth, I can now see the enormity of it. We would be very grateful for any additional information you can add.
I only hope there is a headstone when we have a chance to venture over! Regards Sally

Hi Celia, You said you'd looked on the Non Conformist & C of E films, but no trace. I Googled the Cemetery to see what else I could find. I came up with Wirral council's web site & the list of Cemeteries they look after. There was a phone number (0151 677 2361) & a note saying for more info call.... so I did! I asked if they had the records & was told yes. I gave Arthur Irvings details, date of death & his grave number. within a few seconds he had confirmed the details & that he was in section 17 of the Non conf section & those in the grave with him were William & Isabella & their dates of death too!! I would like to thank you again for your help, saving us a wasted journey to visit the cemetery & not really knowing what we were looking for. Kind regards Sally

Hi Celia,
if you are still doing lookups would you mind looking for the burial of Elizabeth Lawley at Rake Lane, presumed C. of E. Death 1925 qtr June, that's if you have access for that year.
Many thanks,
sigrid

Sigrid I just wrote a post added my name clicked one of the smilies and the post vanished
I found Elizabeth she was buried on 23rd June 1925 age 73 Section 13c grave 21. Unfortunately along with most of all the other twenties there are no headstones. Now i hope you know the middle name of Elizabeth Because the first letter is a c like the one i sign my name with. Then there are four small loops all exactly the same, they don't resemble any letter at all except a row of Ells

Sigrid this is a note for me in case i have to refere back to previous look ups at some time.Using P.M.s for requests means no replies on the public board and i don't know why. I delete my P.M's regular, so they are lost forever
So Thank you for your P.M with further lookups which i will do in the next few days. I am glad we both agreed on the middle name.Do you want me to put the results on this board or do you prefare a private reply.

Celia,
It's been suggested to me that you might be able to look up the burial of my great grandfather who died in 1936 on March 17th. His death was registered in Birkenhead South. His name was William Allison and he was aged 73 at death which occurred at 56 Church Rd. Occupation given as electrician (Merchant Service) and his normal residence was "Stanleigh" Lingham Lane Wallasey U.D. All of this is from his death certificate. He is not buried with his wife and children who are all in Kirkdale Cemetery Liverpool.
Hope this isn't an imposition and that you can help
Ken
