I am keen to trace the parents of Hugh who married Hannah Shaw in 1865 and lived in Lees,Lancashire.

R U sure u have the year right on this? there is a Hugh in the 71 census but he is 14 years old born Saddleworth son of Thomas and Mary Huh? Is that your man. They r in Oldham Lancs

         My date is definately right,I have his death certificate..Possibly county is wrong..This area borders on Yorks lancs and cheshire.

Hi sorry to say I am unable to help in that case. I just happened to be going through the 1871 census when your request came in and even though he would b married by then I thought I may as well have a look in case there were any other family with them that may have helped. When I found aHugh Winterbottom, 14 years old b Saddleworth living lancs. I just saw married 1865 and wondered if perhaps is was a typo and it should have said 1875 or 85. The right Hugh is not listed. Sorry to have messed u around.
