1930 US census - New York
« on: Friday 11 November 05 13:07 UTC (UK) »

Does anyone out there have access to the 1930 US census?  I am looking for John Bissette, born in Ireland in 1896, who was living in America (New York, I believe) at this time.

Can some kind person have a wee look for me  Cheesy

Hi Wendy,

Thanks for the try, but that cannot be him.  I don't have access to this census but Ancestry.com has a john bissette - born 1895 - living in Cass County (wherever that is).  It does not let me have info on the city or the state.

I am not sure if he had gained US citizenship by then (or if he ever did) but all the infomation that has been passed down suggests that he was definitely in the US at that time (he was sending money home on a monthly basis).  His address, in 1929, was 72 West 105th Street, New York.
