1841 Census/George Henry Chapman

I am trying to track down the movement of  a George Henry Chapman between his birth and the 1851 census.

George was born abt 1820 in Ash/Sandwich area. He married a Charlotte ? from Tunbridge and had 2 Children born East Grinstead 1843/1846 before moving to Sittingbourne were he is picked up on the 1851/1861.

Was he still with his parents in Ash/Sandwich area in 1841 ?or was he married and living in Tunbridge/East Grinstead area.? And why were the 2 children born East Grinstead left in the East Grinstead workhouse in 1851 when he was living in Sittingbourne?.

I have just found a marriage record for a George Chapman & Charlotte Clout  1838 Milton Kent ? (this was the 1851/61 census area for George). So was he still there in 1841 ?
