Hi,
Could someone check the 1841 census please, (or any other source come to that) for
Elizabeth Ann Roine, b1825 St. Hilary, Cornwall
She appears in the 1851 census, but is visting relatives so I don't have details of her immediate family.
I don't entirely trust the transcription from Ancestry, so you might want to check alternative spellings.
Many thanks,
Adrian

Hi
I have had a look at the 1841 and there are no Roine listed at all in Cornwall.
Could the name be Rowe?? I have had a look in St Hilarys and there is an Elizabeth age 15 who would fit, please remember ages were in general rounded down to the nearest 5 once over the age of 15.
The writing of Rowe in 1841 could be misread as Roine!
Here are the details in case she is the one.
All were born in county
William Rowe, age 40, ag lab Margaret Rowe, age 50 Margaret Rowe, age 20, dress maker Elizabeth Rowe, age 15 William Rowe, age 14, carpenter apprentice Mary Rowe, age 9
Fore Street Marazion St Hilary HO107 0144 folio 2/22 page 6
hope this may help
Nicky

Nicky,
Thank, you for the reply...and for showing me the b***** obvious!
Elizabeth is listed on Ancestry as Roine and as niece to William Crotch, but I was never convinced of the transcription.
I needed the family details to complete the link to William. The thing is, William Crotch was married to a Margaret Rowe (b 1788 Redruth).
I should have tried this connection sooner.
Now all I need to do is sort out the various Margarets.
Many thanks,
Adrian
