Could anyone please look up Frederick Holmes, born about 1835 in Poole Dorset. Later married to Mary Ann or Margaret (from Cowes, I o W). They moved east to Southampton, Then Portsmouth. By 1881 they are living in Portsmouth.
Thanks in advance.
Michael.

Only two Frederick HOLMES living in Dorset in 1841 at time at that age.  One is 3, says born 'out of county' though it could be wrong.. living in Dorchester.  The other is 5 and living in Sturminster Newton Castle.  Huh

IF you have any more information, I'll see what I can find.

Thanks for looking, I cant give you much more information.
All I know is that in the 1881 census household record, Frederick is residing in Portsmouth, aged 46 and born in Poole, Dorset. His elder children are born in Southampton, maybe he moved to Southampton when he was very young (before 1841?).
William, his son was born about 1862 in Southampton.
By 1872 they are living in Portsmouth.
I suspect that he had an elder son than William, probably Frederick born about 1860 (in hampshire) and living in Portsmouth by 1881.
Thanks anyway, I do appreciate your help.

If you knew any other family members, I could keep checking.

Perhaps if you can get the marriage certificate or something?

Or if someone else has a Hampshire 1841 census, maybe they can find them.

sorry I couldn't be more help.
