Accessing wrong website

I have just received confirmation that my web space is available.

teulualwyn.rootschat.net

I attempted to access the ftp server by creating a "new network place" in Windows XP Network Wizard.

I gave the ftp address as

ftp://teulualwyn.rootschat.net

I was given access (without a password being required) but instead of seeing my empty Rootschat space I entered a space already being used containing a large number of files including an index page entitled :

Welcome to the Sewell Family Tree website

(This is the only file that I looked at, and I haven't changed anything on the site)

Clearly something has gone wrong, but I'm mot sure what!

Your ftp address is:

teulualwyn.rootschat.net

(not with ftp infront of it)

Your username is:

teulualwyn.rootschat.net

Your password is:
(whatever your password is)

If you don't give an username or password (or if you have clicked on "Anonymous FTP"), then you will end up in the black hole that you have found.  Wink

Yes, thanks Trystan. I had to download an FTP programme to do it though, because Windows network wizard insists that all ftp addresses start with ftp://.

I have managed to upload phpmygedview to the site. The only problem I have now is getting the £$%^*@! programme to work  Smiley.
