Can anyone help me with a marriage look up

Would anyone be able to help me find out if my gt (X6) grandfather and grandmother were married in herefordshire. Their names are John Randall (born at sea)and Susan Huh born in peterchurch hereford they were living in wales in 1861 (maybe even before but haven`t found out for certain yet. Sorry it`s not much. Thanks.

A possible from the IGI but one unfortunately before civil registration

Peterchurch parish has no coverage on the IGI

but you won't find anything further about the marriage because it is only an index.

A marriage in 1836 in the actual parish register itself (which will be held in Glamorgan Record Office, though there may also be transcripts of the registers) will give you the names of the two people marrying, which parish they were from, their status, bachelor, spinster, widowed, whether they signed the register or made a mark, the two or more witnesses signatures and whether the marriage was by banns or licence. If either of the couples was under age (under 21) it would also state their age and perhaps who gave their permission. That is all the information it would give. It was not until civil registration began from July 1837 that the format changed and father's names and occupations were included.

To confirm the marriage is correct it would be wise to obtain a birth certificate of one of the children since the certificate will give you the mother's maiden name. You will need to find a reference in the civil registration to one of the children's births. FreeBMD has transcribed a lot of the civil registration index up to about 1910 (but it is a far from complete index).
