Hi! I was wondering about a possible connnection...especially since I see all the names on your posts. My grandfather was Ernest Bowman and he was born in Forfar in @1897. My Dad, Ernest Bowman remembers playing with his cousin in Forfar who's last name was Neave (they called her Binty). So, I'm wondering if her mother could be the Joan Neave in your post. The timing would be about right. Also, you list Craik as one of your names and I know that that's a name somewhere down my line too.
My Grandfather married Annie Geekie and they emigrated with my Dad to the US in about 1934 or so. I live in Florida but did get to live in Scotland for three years when my husband was posted there with the US Navy.
