CULVERWELL in Culmstock parish registers?
« on: Tuesday 15 November 05 14:39 GMT (UK) »

I have a mystery... but don't we all  Huh

What I am asking, is if anyone has any access to the Culmstock or Cullompton Parish Registers, for a Sarah CULVERWELL, born I guess in 1800 or thereabouts..

The reason I am asking is follows-:

I read in the Genuki page for Culmstock -
Small Brook Wesleyan Chapel: Registers for c1806-37 see Cullompton, Tiverton (PRO RG 4/958, 342)

As my Thomas ANDREWS was baptised in Cullompton Devon in 1825, it made me think.

I have been searching for the marriage of his parents Samuel and Sarah ANDREWS for quite some time.  I finally ordered a printout of index from the Devon FHS, and the only wedding it had in the time frame and near the area, was Samuel ANDREWS to Sarah CULVERWELL in 1821 in Culmstock.

Going by that strange message the Genuki page has about Culmstock Wesleyan chapel, I am thinking that maybe this is my marriage after all.

I know there is a Samuel ANDREWS and Sarah in 1841 Culmstock census, but they are in their 70's and I assume in their 50's when the children were born... too old back then?

I would appreciate any and all help.  Thanks  Grin

Hi
Try the Devon Family History Society web site, they have transcribed the baptism registers for Cullumopton and many other parishes besides.

Actually I didn't think of doing it for CULVERWELL *doh* Oh but I think they start in 1812 or something, but I need about 1800....  That is my problem.
