Marriage look up please - Benjamin Allinson (Allison) to Sarah
« on: Wednesday 16 November 05 12:18 GMT (UK) »

Am trying to find out Sarah's maiden name from before her marriage to Benjamin ALLINSON (sometimes transcribed as Allison). They are already married on 1851 census living in North Yorkshire (Grafton) They have several children starting in 1840.  Can't find them on Pallots or civil register.

Any info gratefully received.

Cheers,
Mark

A birth certificate for one of the children should give it.   As they are post 1837 and you know their place of birth from the 1851 census they should not be too hard to find - at least that is the theory!

Hi Mark

I don't know if this is the correct one but Freebmd has a marriage entry for Benjamin ALLINGSON in the March 1/4 1839 - Easingwold, the only other entry on the page is Sarah Hall.

happy hunting

Thank you Andrea & Bee.  Sometimes my brain stops - why didn't I think of a birth cert for one of the kids??!! Embarrassed

And hadn't tried Allingson spelling either (allinson aalinson, alison, allison, allanson etc etc but never thought of adding a g)  Embarrassed

Thanks,

Onwards & backwards ...
