Hi Chris, when you can spare the time, would you have a look at the 1841 vol4 Sussex census for me and see if any of my Cleverly or Mitchell's appear, they are most elusive, I have them from 1851 census , but  being Hawkers etc , they could be anywhere in 1841, but this corner of Sussex seems to be their area

Have checked the 1841 census Vol 4

Cleverly - NILL
Mitchell - 8 entries, but all Ag Labs with 1 Carpenter

No Hawkers listed - sorry

Just to rec-check in case they changed occuption - what forename goes with Mitchell

Sorry, but non of those names go with the Mitchell entries in Vol 4 of the 1841 Census for East Sussex.
