Hi, I'm puzzled. Last weekend I uploaded the first few pages to my website. Everything uploaded fine and the changes seemed to be applied almost instantly, i.e. if I altered something it changed when I refreshed the live page.
This week I have been working on one of the pages which I wasn't happy with and made quite a lot of changes. Today I have gone into file manager, deleted the original file and uploaded the revised version. Same name, same folder, just replaced the page. Trouble is, when I refresh the page on the live site, it's still showing the old page. When I look at the code under "edit" in file manager, the new html code is definitely there. The old code shouldn't exist any more. I did this update about 2 hours ago and the old page is still what appears when I refresh.
What am I doing wrong??? Any ideas anyone?
Thanks in advance

All census information is Crown Copyright, from www.nationalarchives.gov.uk Currently researching: ABRAHAMS (Essex/Woolwich), CARPENTER (Kent) CLEMENTS (London), CRADDOCK (Sheerness) HORTON (Birmingham) MUNCASTER (Whitehaven then Manchester, Scotland, Suffolk and Canada!) TANCOCK (Devon/Cornwall), WILSON (Edinburgh) among others.....
More often than not you need to give the server time to replace the cached pages ... on the previous go it was possible that you timed it just right and so got the changes "instantly"
Thought it might be that, thanks - is there an average time for updates to take effect or is it a case of "how long's a piece of string"... and just being patient (not my strongest point!)
