Good morning members,

Did any of these German names also migrate to UK in the 19th century?

I have a number who migrated to Australia:  They are forebears of my wife.

Would like to hear from any descendants.

I'm not a relation - but I found this - perhaps you already have it - but I'll post just in case!! theres many Otto's in 1881 and 1891 - do you have anybody in mind?

Thank you very much for your response.

It could well be that the Wilhelm GOLZ you mention is a relative of my wife's GreatGrandmother,  Emilie Pauline Albeitine GOLZ, who was born about the same time.  She was born in Friedland, Petznick [Petzec] West, Prussia.

A further avenue for me to research.

Hi Bruce,

here's a possibility for a rainy afternoon, when you have a few more names to compare:

on the german GEDBAS site  there are over 300 GOLZ, including an
Albertine Golz, getauft (christened) 1854 in Lodz, Poland. I don't think that was part of West Prussia (Preussen) but you may recognise some other names there.
