I am searching for ancestors of my step father Jack Cumming, from West London, and this is a summary of what I have so far. If this rings bells with anyone or you can offer suggestions for further research or can add any details, I would be glad to hear from you.

Thomas Cumming (his g.father) born 1845, along with siblings James, born 1848 & Jessie abt 1851, was born in the Westgate area of Newcastle upon Tyne.

Their parents were William CUMMING, bapt 1816 at Eccles and Christian DONALDSON, bapt 1815 at Ayton. (No marriage as yet)

Their parents were Thomas CUMMING & Margaret HISLOP, m. 1806 at St Boswells, ROX; James DONALDSON & Margaret SCOTT, m. 1809 at Chirnside.

There are possible baptisms from OPR for -
Margaret Hislop at Lauder 1781 - parents John HISLOP & Margaret BELL.
James Donaldson at Earlston 1781 - father James DONALDSON.
Margaret Scott at Eccles 1782 - parents James SCOTT & Betty JOHNSTON (IGI)
No baptism yet for Thomas Cumming - parents Thomas CUMMING & Jannet STEWART, from his marriage record.
