Hi,
There are 2 McGurn families in Leitrim in the Griffiths Valuation. I think this must have been taken after they left.
In 1901 census http://www.leitrim-roscommon.com/cgi-bin/newcen-srch there is one McGurn family in Leitrim in KiltyClogher Cloonclare Rosclogher A shopkeeper called Thomas aged 70. Children Bessie and Thomas.
It may be worth checking these parish records for Christopher's birth. Regards
Kate

Not sure if this is any help but have you considered alternative spellings?
One which occured to me as soon as I came across your post was McGirl. This sounds quite like McGurn to me and there were several in Kiltoghert parish Leitrim. I have a greatgrandmother Mary with that surname, born 1841. Her father was a Niall but I have no other information on him.
