On the 1851 census there is an Ann Ringrose born Foxholes
HO 107 2368 folio 90 Flixton Yorkshire Ann Ringrose aged 72 born Foxholes, Yorkshire, Head Widow Farmer's widow Thomasin Johnson 45 born Brampton, Yorkshire, House Servant
Balanced against that George Bannister on the 1851 census born circa 1810 Driffield is a shoemaker with his wife and four sons in Foxholes with Boythorpe. While Welburn Ringrose born circa 1821 in Driffield is a lodger in Kirby Grindalythe and also a shoemaker. It seems unlikely shoemakers would have a father who was a farmer.

In case you are interested in the Welburn Ringrose side, he was the son of Dorothy Welburn b1738, Sherburn and Jonathan Ringrose b1736, Helperthorpe, baptised 12/4/1778, Sherburn. Ultimately you can trace the Welburn line back to Christopher Welburn ~1680. No info on the Bannister side as coming down from the Welburn line.

I mainly agree with this where large estates were kept intact excepting for when younger sons were awarded some land on the periphery of the estate to farm. The land one of my ancestors had couldn't be divided further and many cousins in the next generation 1851 onwards had a diversity of occupations ranging from potter, shoeshop owner, cutler, and even miner earning more money than he could possibly earn on the land. If the apprenticeship records of the shoesmith trade still exist the father's name is probably recorded and how much he paid to whom for the apprenticeship training.
