Ruth Overington was born around 1822 in according to LDS Lorwood Sussex
she was by then married to a Henry White from Bath somerset
This is all the information I have on her could anyone please find her birth and or marriage .
a bonus would be if anyone found her in the 1841

Sorry, but I can niether find Ruth Overington or Lorwood in Sussex, so have had no success on finding anything else about her.
I did not find her baptism on the LDS site or in the BIVRI
Can you quote the full entry / details of where you found your info

I arrived at looking for this Henry White from a birth certificate for my hubbies ggran emma ruth white born1849
this said mother was Ruth White formerly overington this led me to look at familysearch site.
I may have picked on wrong whites I suppose emma Ruth married in 1873 so she wouldnt have been with her parents in 1881.
Just looked in 1871 didnt think of that till now 
would appear it is Loxwood also found her marriage so will send for that see if it helps.

Thanks for the explanation
Loxwood in West Sussex certainly makes more sense - but unfortunately I do not have the 1851 census transcription for that part of the county as yet.
Just looked on the BIVRI - but no luck on there for your Overington
Going to look on the 1841 now for Loxwood - see if I can identify any Overington families.

Hi there
Just checked the 64 pages of the 1841 census that coverRap[e of Arundel, Hundred of Bury, Parish of Wisborough Green which is in Loxwood End Township. HO 107 1091.
This is the only reference I can find to Loxwood, but it is only in the title, not on the enumerators schedule - so am I looking in the right place?
Although I found one single girl called Mary Overington, aged 18 - that was the one and only entry that I saw.
Will check again, just in case I scrolled past it

On the re-check, I found a George Overington, 15, Bargman with the Barnard Family.
But I am afraid that is all

been a long time coming got distracted but have marriage cert now and Ruth married in 1848 but in Middlesex and it only gives age as full! father is Obediah Overington a labourer
Now did find an Obed Overington marrying a Ruth Gumble on 28th May 1818 Wisborough Green Sussex (on IGI) could be a possible.
any chance of a birth date? or do you know which office I could apply or visit to perhaps get it?
If this is correct Obediah & Ruth they appear to still be in Wisborough Green on 1871 census
