ACER Laptop

I'm going to buy my granddaughter a laptop for Christmas and have been doing a bit of research...trying to find the best value for money.

Can anyone tell me if they have an ACER laptop or know anything about it. It's not a name that I'm familiar with here in the US but I hear it is popular in Europe. I have recentlly seen ads for an ACER that are quite a bit cheaper than the Toshiba....my next choice.

Help needed  to make a Jolly Christmas for Erica!

Hi,

My husband, who is a computer bod, bought an Acer laptop last year for his business, when he was self-employed.  The laptop he had before that was a Toshiba.

He has since changed jobs and now the laptop is being used by our son for his schoolwork.  He is 10 and reports that "the Acer is pretty good"
