Looking for the marriage of William WEBB and Charlotte (maiden name unknown) about 1851 - 54.
Both parties were native to Chippenham, Wiltshire. They were unmarried in 1851 census (at least William was!) and their first child was born in Chippenham in 1854.
Thanks in anticipation

Good news Mi Lady!
Only one William WEBB got married in the Chippenham registration district between 1851 & 1854 (have checked the indexes for all 16 quarters).
Probably worth shelling out £7 of that money you've been printing to get the certificate and find out Charlotte's maiden name.
The reference is:
Marriages, March Quarter 1853, WEBB, William, Chippenham 5a 63
Regards,
Al

Why thank you kindly young man!! You are a gentleman & a scholar
This is a peripheral family - so I will have to see how far the new notes stretch!
Might have to do a bit of creative census searching, if no-one has access to the parish records or similar.
Your Order of Merit is in the post & I won't declare was on Mexico THIS week!

Hi Arran....cheryle.f here. I was bored with mine and thought i would do a bit of poking around in yours! . Hope you dont mind. Went on Ancestry for Charlottes of that time period, then onto Charlotte in Chippenham , of which there were six, Five were daughters and one a wife in the time frame for marriages and went round in circles trying to match them but not right bridegroom on any site i used,or not right ref number. Nearly gave up and decided to pull up 51 census and go through manually, page by page. Fifth page of 60 to look at(wasnt doing them in any sequence) found a Charlott Killing 17 living at home with mum and dad. 1837 online ...next step....March Marriages... Charlotte Killing 1853 5a 63.
I feel like Father Christmas!!!!
Good practice for me
best wishes cheryle.f

Cheryle - thank you!
I like your style and if I weren't poking around in Graceland's family looking for his ancestors it is the sort of approach I should have used myself!
Miss Killing it is then! That should be an easy name to research - I wonder what the derivation would be??
Your order of merit is also in the post!
p.s. if you haven't already had a look for John HORSEMAN (Gloucs for Graceland ) then we could use your skills!
Many thanks

Oh Cheryle , I didn't realise you have WEBB connections too! Is it you who is searching in Bromham? I keep seeing posts & reading out of curiosity. My WEBBs are mainly in Wotton under Edge, but I can't find a baptism for Benjamin in 1800 (ish) so I have been wondering if he crept over the border!
I expect they are all the same lot - just mine went further west!
Enjoy your searches.
