Hi Robert

You can check the NSW registrations yourself. They are online at
www.bdm.nsw.gov.au

follow the family history links

I think they are deaths that Leonie has given you

Hi John,
Unfortunately the 20s are the most difficult time to try to find immigrants to Australia, as it was around that time that responsibility for keeping immigration records was changing from the states to the federal government.
However, you can do a search of the National Archives website:  http://www.naa.gov.au/the_collection/family_history.html
If you are still stuck after that, send an enquiry via the form at http://www.naa.gov.au/The_Collection/Family_History/gene_quiry/gene_quiry.htm
Reference assistance is free from the NAA, and they will do a bit of digging around for you at no charge.
Let us know how you get on

Hi John

The names given on the death certificate are the parents of the person who died. Do you know the names of the parents of Catherine? If any of them is the correct record, the death certificate should give a wealth of information about the family -  including the names of living children.

NSW have transcription agents who provide transcriptions of certificates for a smaller fee than the registry (but it is not a legal document - as is the certified registry copy).  If you don't know which one may be your person, they will also (for a fee) check each one, until they find the one which is yours.

If you think one of the Catherines is yours - definitely worth a check.

http://www.bdm.nsw.gov.au/familyHistory/howToSearch.htm#TranscriptionAgent

look at the individual web sites for details as to what they do.
