A George Wye/Elilah Williams marriage

I am looking for a marriage between a George Wye,born about 1807 and a Elilah Williams born Seale,Surrey 1802. They had several children all born in Godalming. On the 1851 census, Elilah is stated to be a widow, but I can not find the death of George Wye. Sometimes the Wye surname is transcribed as Why or Whye.
Any information welcomed.

Thanks for your message and  I am still loking for a marriage - if there was one - between George Wye and Elilah Williams,probably in Surrey. about 1828/1830+ maybe.

The Surrey marriage index (Cliff Webb) should cover the marriage if it existed.

No marriage on the Surrey Marriage Index.  Is there any possibility it was after 1837?

I think this is the death of a two year old child in Woking.

Since there is a baptism for George & Elila's son George in 1833, it does seem strange that a marriage cannot be found.  I've checked Hampshire just in case.

But someone has submitted some data to the IGI which indicates that Elilah and George had a daughter Ann in 1823 in Seale who took her mother's surname of Williams.  And another daughter who does not show up on the census, Louise Wye in Seale in 1830.

Can someone check on Elilah Williams?  Another submitted entry puts the marriage at about 1828, but doesn't say where.  I can't check this at the moment - PC problems.

Hi everyone,
Thank you all for the information re George Wye & Elilah Williams, I will look into the death of that George Whye in 1843. maybe of Woking, there seems to have been several families of the Wye name in Surrey about this time, and not related - as far as I have found anyway!.
