You ask for a look up in Hunts Marriage Index if you can't find it on the IGI

William gave his birthplace as Somersham in 1851. In 1811 there's a marriage in St Ives between William Freeman of Somersham and Alice Lantaffe otp. You need to check the parish register to get further details

Hunts is poorly covered on the IGI as the LDS was refused permission to film many parish registers.

The marriage isn't on the IGI, and I got it from Hunts Marriage Index, available on fiche from Hunts FHS

Because Somersham is one of the parishes that hasn't been filmed by the LDS, or transcribed by Hunts FHS, I can't tell what children William and Alice had, and whether it was the same William who lived in Bluntisham in 1841. The register is only available at Huntingdon records office, which also runs a reasonable priced research service for those who can't get to Huntingdon.

An Alice Freeman aged 38 was buried at Somersham on 20 Aug 1826.

I agree you're at a dead end online. My gg grandmother was from Somersham, born 1792, and living in France there's no chance of my getting to Huntingdon. But for a few quid Huntingdon Records Office produced a lot of information which got me back a few generations.

Give them a try.
