How to link to a previous post
« on: Wednesday 30 November 05 08:30 GMT (UK) »

Forgive me if this has been posted before - but people keep asking & I couldn't find it!

To post a link

For example, if you want a look-up of an earlier census after you rellies have been found in another post.

Highlight the URL of the post you want to link to (ie your old post)

Copy & paste it into the new post

Complete your new post - it should have the URL for your old post in a blue hyperlink

If not - use the Modify button on you new post to "mend" it

Hope this is helpful

This also applies if you want to share an external link,
the RootsChat software will automatically recognise phrases beginning with http://---  or www.---- as hyperlinks
