I think i have found my great uncle who was killed in 2nd world war but accoring to 1837.co.uk where the details are about his death it says "district Buckrose" does anyone know of buckrose, where or what it is.

It would appear to be a wapentake in the East Riding of Yorkshire- a wapentake is in the former Danelaw area of Britian and is the equivalent of a hundred in other parts of the country.
