In my quest to find the birth of William Walker born 1844 Glasgow I have searched for his death and found that he died in 1935 Wallsend Northumberland whilst living with his son Robert Dixon Walker. I have searched for Williams will, no find but did come across Roberts will and it transpires he died in Cumberland whilst visiting his niece. He left his estate to his daughter Winifred Walker Allen birth 1920 Wallsend don't know when she married could be 1940 ish could be a war bride. A Rootschat member found Winifred ALLEN Birth Date: 2 Jan 1920 Death Date: Oct 1995 Social Security Number: 379-28-2158 State or Territory Where Number Was Issued: Michigan
Death Residence Localities ZIP Code: 48383 Localities: White Lake, Oakland, Michigan
Now if anybody could find the birth of her children they could hold the key to this puzzle. I feel as William was living with Robert when he died he would have left his papers to him and then to follow on Robert may have left them to Winifred. Thank you in anticipation. Terri

Do you have a photocopy of her application for a social security number? The form will give her date and place of birth, address at the time she applied, plus her parents' names. This would tell you for certain if it's the right person. It's not inexpensive but it can be worthwhile.
(My grandmother's sister was born in Massachusetts, applied for her social security number when she lived in Maine, and died in Florida.)
Another option would be to check the following websites for possible resources:
You could write to the funeral homes, too, since you know she died in October 1995.
If a cemetery or funeral home has records of her, they might have a next of kin. They would have the exact date of date, so you could then write to the local library and ask for her obit. At this point, you don't know if she was living in a home in White Lake or in hospital or a nursing home, so you don't know for certain which town or city's newspaper would carry her obit (depending on where she and her family lived).
Hello Josephine, what a lovely Christmas gift, lots of lovely information, thank you so much really appreciate it all. Terri Will get onto the case as soon as
