Hi Elaine

Had a check on my Barr file but cannot see a connection There was as an article in one of the Sunday papers recently about a Greenock/Gourock  Barr who was a noted yachtsman and skippered for Lipton back in the 1920s Again not my crowd but there were a number of Barr families in the area who seem unconnected .

On the Begg side I haved a Janet Craig born 1825 Freswick Canisbay ( Caithness) but she was connected to my Cormacks who farmed Keiss for generations ( her mother was Janet Cormack ) The Beggs all originated in Canisbay before moving to Wick and  later to Edinburgh .

Best wishes
