WW! Wounded
« on: Monday 05 December 05 17:58 UTC (UK) »

Hi

My grandfather Isaac Queen was in the Scottish Rifles Regiment 7127 and was wounded in France 14 December 1914 by sharpnel. He walked 2 miles to the nearest First Aid Post. I would liked to know more about the post and which hospital he would have been taken to eventually.

there would be a regimental museum that would hold the battalion diaries for the regiment.  The medal card will tell you the battalion, a website should tell you where the regimental museum is.  My limited experience is that the curators are great, give them an email and they might just look it up for you.
alternately, i hesitate to recommend another website because this one is fantastic, but the Great War Forum http://1914-1918.invisionzone.com/forums/
is fabulous, full of wonderful people who understand the army -- amazing.

Hello Diane and Manmack

Thank you both for the forum and all of your help  I never knew there was such a site I am away to sign up.  I will also ask my local library if they have the book.  Once again many thanks for all of your help.
