"Full Age" on marriage certificates
« on: Thursday 08 December 05 08:23 UTC (UK) »

Can anyone tell what "Full Age" means when on a marriage certificate.  I have seen certificates with the ages 18, 21 and over but occasionally come across one that just states "full age" and wondered what it meant.

Hi Sue

Quite simply - 21 years or older.

Under 18 was recorded as "minor" on occasion, too.

kind regards, Arranroots  Wink

Thanks very much - it just seems a bit strange that sometimes the ages eve when older than 21 is listed and on other occassions it just states full age.

Thanks again

Yes, and often quite frustrating if it is not possible to calculate their birth year!!
